Shah Rukh Khan's message to Indian Muslims

By John Cheeran
Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan has got it right again.
In an interview to the Times of India, Shah Rukh has dismissed the perception that the middle class Indian Muslim is alienated from society.
SRK, who is married to a Hindu woman, remains the pinup boy for secularism in India.
Let me quote SRK from the Times of India's Mumbai edition. " Every Muslim shouldbe very proud of the fact that we are living in a country that is the most secular. We are living in a country where I don't think we need to feel alienated. I don't think any Muslim people in this country have any reason to be terrorists."
These comments, coming in the wake of Mumbai serial blasts, should shame those wooly secularists and Marxists who are trying desperately to rationalize the terrorist acts by Muslim outfits by making it out to be a battle of the Muslim grievance against the state machinery.
The time has come to discard grievance politics in India.
At least on religious grounds.

I don't think we can judge the religious beliefs of a celebrity especially when he has fans of all religions. He would never speak the truth about his beliefs incase someone gets hurt (more like they will stop watching his movies). Visit my blog: http://islamicpoint.blogspot.com

I love Shahrukh Khan but as a Muslim how seriously can I take what he says when he married a Hindu girl and his kids aren't being brought up as strict Muslims which Islam requires you to do so. A marriage between a Muslim and a Hindu is invalid which means they are simply living together. To me, I like that Shahrukh has found Islam and is practicing it but I feel like he should be passing it on to his kids 100%. I mean doesn't he want his kids to go to heaven?

Ithink srk is fantastic and fabulous actor but apart from that he married gauri who is hinddu so it means he's not a muslim now b'coz in Islam if ur going to get married with a boy/girl who's not muslim so first make them muslim and then get married otherwise u won't be a muslim after that, but gauri still is hindu !!

I BELIEVE BEING A FILMSTAR AND BEING A MUSLIM CANNOT GO HAND ON HAND.THE BIG BAD WORLD OF FILMS ONLY INDUCE US TOWARDS "SHIRK",SOMETHING WE SHOULD AVOID.
EVEN THOUGH SHAHRUKH HAS HAD A MUSLIM UPBRINGING ,HIS ACTS ARE COMPLETELY WRONG.PEOPLE INDEED LOOK UPTO HIM AS A MUSLIM BUT THE MAN IS AN INSPIRATION OF NULL WHEN IT COMES TO BEING A TRUE MUSLIM.
HE SHOULD FOLLOW HIS WORDS WITH ACTS TO BE THE RIGHT ROLE MODEL FOR ASPIRING MUSLIMS.
