Don’t cry for Argentina! Cheer them

By John Cheeran
The ease with which Argentina demolished Serbia and Montenegro spells trouble for rest of the teams angling for the World Cup.
Serbia and Montenegro is not the strongest of teams in this World Cup; and soon after this World Cup Serbia and Montenegro are to go their separate ways to mount their different challenges for the 2010 World Cup.
Still six goals from Argentina should catch our attention. All of them sublimely executed. The second goal in the match scored by Esteban Cambiasso is the best goal in the tournament so far, and likely to remain so. It was a supreme team effort finished off by a superb touch. That goal had the longest foreplay for a goal, with the move beginning in the Argentina half and lasting around five minutes to the utter frustration of their S&M rivals.
Finally Saviola fed Crespo, who stepped over the ball and backheeled it for Cambiasso to fire into the roof of the net past a static Dragoslav Jevric.
Argentina has a difficult path ahead of them into the final. But the Latinos have enough talent and ammunition to crack formidable opponents such as Germany and England likely to come up in quarterfinals and semifinals.
Don’t cry for Argentina! Cheer them.
