Four labourers, including a pregnant woman, and two children, aged 5 and 7, who were sleeping on pavement at Carter Road, Bandra, in Mumbai were killed on last Sunday.
Six drunken youth aged 18 to 21, driving a Toyota Corolla, ran over men, women and children, who were sleeping at a work-site outside the Railway Colony.
It is worse than a crime.
Criminals, after all, do have a motive.
What motive these lager louts had?
Can anyone blame the poor in India if they say that "the rich kill us for their sport?"
The pavement dwellers in India are flies to wanton boys as the recent incidents show.
Not long ago New Delhi had an incident of a BMW mowing down men on the road.
The names of these killers are irrelevant; their class is important.
Their mindset is important. I'm sure that money power will ensure that relatives of the victims do not pursue the path of justice and the killers go free taking the cover of of an accident.
When shall the rich learn to rein in their killer instincts?
Till the wretched of the India tear down their mansions?
