Sack Woolmer, bring on Anwar, the preacher!

By John Cheeran
It is time for Pakistan President General Pervez (or is it Perverse?) Mushraff to get his act together. He has a fight on his hands if he cares to enter the Pakistan cricket team's dressing room.
Pakistan cricketers have begun to indulge in manhandling their coach.
If one can believe what Indian security officer Rtd. Colonel Anil Kaul has said coach Bob Woolmer was slapped by Pakistan's raging fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar.
Nothing can tame the wild spirits of these guys, it seems.
And this is the same team that was claimed by skipper Younis Khan in Jaipur as a Muslim team. A purity, unity of faith, that was achieved by forcing a Christian Yousuf Youhana to embrace Islam. Younis had gloated in Jaipur that faith binds them all.
Now as the captain of the Champions Trophy side that witnessed Akhtar's antics, what Younis has to say?
Why doesn't Younis clear the air on the slap and song, when Woolmer and Akhtar have predictably issued their denials.
What Anil Kaul revealed must be highly embarrassing for Pakistan cricket team management and its avid supporters. According to Kaul, Akhtar slapped Woolmer after an argument over what music to play in the team bus during the team's stay in Jaipur. He also said the speedster misbehaved with a woman at a discotheque and created a ruckus in the team hotel, banging the door of Indian coach Greg Chappell who was also staying there.
So you have team members using performance enhancing drugs, players who slap their coach, players who booze and spend nights at discos.
All these nonsense would have been acceptable if these players were infidels. But Pakistan is a Muslim team!
Above all they are losing.
Yes, Pakistan team is in short supply of faith.
So bring on the preacher, general.
Bring on Saeed Anwar, who has blended cricket successfully with Koran.
Let Pakistan cricketers declare jihad against the rest of the world.
