Two of India's finest newspapers have come up with pretty cliched matsheads for the World Cup.
The Times of India leads off its cricket coverage with a silly 'Caribbean Crusade' while Hindustan Times is stuck with a very ordniary tag "War in Windies."
It's all easy and tempting to drag George Orwell and his celebrated statement of 'sport being a war minus shooting.
There are no wars in the West Indies.
May be more of rum and rumbstious celebrations in Jamaica and Barbados and of course in Trinidad where Indians have pitched their World Cup tent.
And crusade in the Caribbean?
Again it shows how ignorant Indian journalists can become when they bandy about such lofty words as crusade.
Given a chance I would have struck out crusade from the sporting contest.
At least from these cricket skrimishes.
May be someone should launch a crusade against such inantites in Indian journalism.
